Searching

“There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. 'Rabbi,' he said, 'we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.' Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.'"  John 3:1-3

I've come to truly appreciate this smart phone I carry around. When used properly, in content and duration, it can be a terrific tool. One of the benefits includes finding answers to questions that come up in everyday conversations. Just insert the inquiry into one of the smart phone search engines and voila', answers at your fingertips! I love that. Seeking and finding.

Nicodemus was a kindred spirit. He'd been watching Jesus. Apparently, very closely. He knew about his miracles. He connected them to God. He also knew where Jesus was hanging out after the sun went down. Soon, he could no longer contain his curiosity. In spite of the social risk for a man in his position, he sought Jesus out. Jesus answered the question he didn't even know how to ask. The Kingdom of God, Jesus told him, belongs to those who've been born physically and spiritually.

Searching and seeking are worthwhile endeavors. Without them, there is no finding. Nicodemus did. In so doing, he found peace with God through faith in Jesus. Have you?

Grace and Peace,

Tom
